It just AD08 255/40/17 at the back, brand new tyres maybe thats why losing grip

Yes from 8400-9200rpm just flat and not dropping. So you can go all the way to 9200 if needed but my mapper said the cylinder is getting very hot maybe caused by the retarded on the intake cam. Power delivery is very nice and smooth so we are happy with the result. I don't see any point to have more power than what it is now.

You can get obsessed with headline figures if you're not carfeul. Safe mapping is priority, and the number is what it is.

On a 400 bhp evo, you could lose about 10 bhp from a couple of octane points, purely from ignition retarding.

The higher the RON rating, the more resistant it is to pre-detonating at the wrong point in the piston stroke. Predetonation comes from hot cylinder temps. So with a more det resistant fuel, you can get a bit more advance on the timing.

There are several/many factors that effect it, AFR, Fuel (octane rating) RPM - to list just a few. I couldn't possibly say on this chaps car what settings equal/effect power in figures for this guys car. Timing is not a static figure throughout its not x=y.

I feel like I'm cluttering up Dixons thread, so if you want a chat about it feel free to PM me Lee.
