Mine is a MY07.

My first theory was that the dealer replaced bits when the car had an alarm issue from new, perhaps they had replaced the ECU.

otherwise I was thinking that perhaps it's a task that is meant to be done by the supplying dealer at PDI time. Mine was a grey import so skipped some of that stage.

Takes the dealer about two minutes to enter the code.

Chris,I had problems with my 4000 mile old stock clutch straight away as soon as I fitted my supercharger.I fitted a Competition Clutch stage 2 and it handled the power without any problems. It feels and bites exactly the same as a stock clutch.

When I have my turbo dynod I am going to have the boost set just below the point where the clutch starts to let go.I think I paid around £300 for the clutch.I have no idea how long it would last as I only did around 1000 miles on it.I am hoping it will last this summer until I put another gearbox/clutch set up in it.

I dont think there is any such thing. TTS offer a rotrex for just under £5k (see ebay) but you need an aem and new clutch really which is another £2k

So realistically you are talking big numbers

If you have the money get new but used price,s are half that money in the states just saying.ALSO a £100 6 puck clutch disc with stock plate would do the job.

Am I right in thinking a lot of people just upgrade the pressure plate and find this is fine and keeps the nice progressive clutch feel?

Edit: Guessing with the power of this install a stock clutch actually wouldn't cope.

Just get stuff sent as a gift or warranty return, if you declare as low value you don't get hit as much.

I've had manifolds etc sent as a gift and very low value and hadn't had to pay anything I hate the robbing c@#ts that are hm revenues and customs.
