Default DIY Cold air feed

Ive been thinking about the possibility of getting a cold air feed from one of the blanked off vents then having a replacment filter in the stock filter housing.

anyone tried this?

I am working on this .......

It is easy to open up the vents and cover them with grills. It isn't so easy to route a pipe into the engine bay.

I seem to remember in the dim and distant past that Rick - the sponsor - did this.
Don't know if the thread is still there - but there were lots of 'how to' pics.

I did this a while ago, you need to cut a hole in the bottom section of the air box and epoxy a 3 to 4 inch dia tube into it, then run a pipe from this to the plastic divider that seperates the engine bay from the area behind the drivers side false vent (its the same position that most CAI use) i used push fit drain pipe and bends but if you can pick up one of the cheap fleabay CAI's and do a bit of cut and shut it could look quite good

this shows two feeds as i used 3" pipe and i did not want to go less cross section than the standard intake opening in the air box

Sort of the solution Honda uses on the EK Civic!

I'm pretty sure that bit was de-contented from the S2000 prototype.

I like the look of this!! i guess the picture misses the really hard work of getting to the front air supply. I like the use of the heat reflective tape also.

Yes! That is why I now need to get some cold air into the engine bay.
