Direct Line or Tesco Insurance? experience please....

Here I am, commenting:
The time it took for the car to be assessed and written off by the enginer was quick (three to five days as far as I can remember).
However, Direct Line is indeed owned by RBS, who in turn own Jam Jar. The car sourcing team (not sure whether technically within Direct Line (I suspect so) or Jam Jar) used Jam Jar to source car from Dixons (up North). The time taken to get the replacement car was several weeks, mostly due to someone being off sick (no one checking his emails!) and then my paperwork getting put at the bottom of someone else's in tray. When I got the car I chased for the hard top stand and Dixons were really poor - never returning calls despite repeat assurances that they would phone back within 24 hours.
In conclusion, Direct Line part of service pretty good, Jam Jar/Dixons - a joke!
Will I go with Tescos again, I will probably have to now I've had my accident but even if I wasn't forced to, I probably would (my experience may not be the norm) unless someone came close on price.
PS I got new for old with Tescos - only applies if car less than 12 months old and you are first owner.

Been with Direct Line all my insurance life, they have always been the best premium wise. I have a number of dealings with them on the accident front, none my fault of course and they have always been spot on.
Would I change? Yes, becuase direct line charge me so much for any mods. Ideally I would go to tesco for this as their premium is almost the same but they seem a lot more receptive to mods.
I was however appalled by tesco's service when I tried to arrange insurance for my Corsa, so much so that I paid

thanks everyone (glad to see you could change your name hotshot/Boy Wonder). I suppose pretty much all insurance companies are the same and it depends on "who" you speak to or is involved with your case/claim as with everything in life!!
