Still did not fancy this particular kerb.

I know I'm being a bit fussy. If I had no other option to let the fire engine past then I would have gone up the kerb.

You never know they may have been on the way to putting out a fire at your house

Always best to get out of the way, a life's more important than a scuffed alloy

In this case no, they were going in the wrong direction.

I suspected that they were on the way to the UWE halls of residence for another false alarm. Some bloody student burnt the toast again!

I would be stuffed trying to mount a kerb in any manner - maybe I should invest in some blues & twos in case I end up in that situation

thing that gets me when most of the idiots in lincolnshire hear a siren, is that they just brake and pull over, regardless of where they are.

Middle of a roundabout - brake and stop

A1 -Brake and stop

Set of traffic lights - brake and stop

Slip road - brake and stop

High street - brake and stop

The amount of times iv seen a emergency vehicle have to stop completely whilst some muppet realises that maybe stopping was more of a problem than just slowing down and letting the big thing with sirens overtake u is the reason i never pull onto kerbs or just stop dead. Plus i don't wanna kerb alooys or scruff bumpers.

The debate is similar to the red light camera debate - would you move out of the way of an emergency vehicle if it meant getting 3 points and a

No debate IMHO.
If you, or significant other, were critical in the back of an ambulance, or trapped in a burning building - would you want some muppet fussing over his alloys (edit: or red light camera) holding rescue up?

Im sure this dilema has been posted before, cant remember the outcome tho.
That would be me then

It happened to me about a week after I got my S, an ambulance barrelling down a narrow main road with high curbs on either side and everyone mounting the curbs! I thought ****it somone could die because of me so I bit the bullet and mounted the curb, I was nicely surprised that neither the front bumper nor alloys were harmed, just about

It'll be a different story once my BYS lip is on though but I would still do the same thing, just hope it doesnt happen again!

Anyone who says they'd worry about their rims, etc before moving is just plain selfish IMO.

I cannot believe how selfish some people can be - they are usually the same ones who complain about chav's, ASBO's etc, and then bitch about society disappearing down the pan, without wondering if maybe there own selfish attitudes may play a part towards creating ths shithole of a country that the UK is becoming?

Just a thought.
