If it's a SPA gauge there is a button that comes pre wired with the supplied loom, I fitted mine on the underside of the dash out of sight but easy to reach, the light is a small but bright led below the main read out, you can change the alarm point and I think there is an output for a buzzer
The other neat option is to scroll back through the alarms and see the lowest or highest reading recorded

The people across the pond seem to be taking out the OEM sensor so the light is permenantly off and replacing it with a gauge. It must be the best place to measure from as that's what Honda do but weather you want to replace it or run a T piece (to keep the light also) is up to you.
I also think I will be doing this thanks to my recent scare

Why don't you get a 8npt "t" piece and tee of it original oil pressure switch. That way you will still have the oil light working and you won't have to bugger about with a sandwich plate.Try to get 52 mm gauge, I've got 62 mm and they are huge.

You need to be careful with the t-piece idea as alot of them are made from brass and overtime they are known to fracture. With the OEM sender and aftermarket sender all fitted onto the t-piece thats a fair bit of weight thats resting on a tiny thread.
The best solution is the sandwich plate and with the oil filter so easily accessible it would make sense to use one. I had one on my integra but it was a nightmare as the filters mounted at the back of the engine. If you want to really go over the top then you should use a short length of flexible high pressure hose as this will insulate the sensors from any engine vibrations which tends to kill them overtime.
