This is because the experts on the forum are saving consumer huge amounts of money by avoiding main dealers where possible.

I'm with Gaspode here - you saved a rook of money and can laugh at the salesman heartily knowing that fact

and just to clarify, the warranty IS 3 years or 60k miles.

I've had another set of wheels replaced in the 3rd year of my warranty without a quibble and it looks like i'm going to having another wheel or two next week and a centre cap too.

98 Ron, the reason Motor Depot can make money is that cars on Malta and Cyprus retail for so much less.

Different manufacturers do seem to handle it differently. Honda are good with their 3 year/60,000 miles.

By comparison, I bought my MY08 Subaru Forester from Motorhouse. Turns out it had been a while unsold. And the warranty is with the Cyprus dealer who used Motorhouse and only for 2 years from the time it first landed on Cyprus. Which explains a 35% price cut.

I am ok with this because of the underlying reliability and my need for a doggie wagon for at least another ten years

So far so good. Touch wood.
