Oh dear

I feel sorry for anyone in this business ATM and whilst I've had my fair share of issues with DeVries Stockton, it's sad to see them close.

Passed my local dealership at the weekend, big spaces all around the forecourt area, used to be packed in like sardines when I worked there, reducing the stock level reduces the overdraft.

DeVries at the stockton branch wont leave me alone, when i got my S serviced my dad wanted a brochure on the Civic, so now they ring me at least twice a week to have a test drive, and also because i required a wiper blade on my service, which i changed myself, they were trying to get me to book the car in for them to do it!

DeVries at Stockton are now part of Benfield. Most of the workshop staff are the same.

My understanding is that the NE Honda outlets formerly owned by DeVries have now become part of the Marshall motor dealer group. I think that of the five sites here in the northeast concerned, the Stockton one was a little different as it was always owned by Honda rather than DeVries. Whilst I'm not that sure about that; I can say with absolute authority though that phoning Scarborough Honda will precipitate the response "Hello; Marshall Honda" as I found today when I phoned to order some Shin-etsu grease.

FWIW I've heard that the best place in the NE to get a S2000 serviced is Springfield Honda in Sunderland.... Any views one way or another??

Can't honestly comment on the Sunderland one, but Newcastle Springfield are shoite. At least they were when they did my service. I came back with a scratched car and missing spark plug cover bolt.
