Default Devalue

Hi,

I've got a 04 2000 and i'm thinking about changing the alloys to another set of 17's, will i devalue the car by adding none standard alloys and if so will it devalue by alot.

Cheers

It's a bit of a non-issue really since you can store the OEM 17s and replace them when you come to replace the car, and then sell the after-market wheels on here.

Whether it devalues the car if you decided to sell the OEM 17s would depend on what you replaced them with! Unless you were to go for some nasty cheapo rims, I doubt it would have much impact on value. Still, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that, so you might be narrowing your potential market if the rims were an acquired taste......

There were some on ebay a couple of days back, OE - not sure whether they're still there but it might be worth a look?

IME you won't devalue the car, but you will limit your audience when it comes to selling if you leave them on. Lots of people prefer to buy a car that is "unmolested" and as standard..

Agree with Mark.

However, it's interesting to ponder the extent to which too many modded S2000s devalue the car in the eyes of the public generally.

A la Corsa/Saxo/E36 BMW.

As this thread has already been hijacked, those wheels on ebay are the ones I asked about on this thread.
