Destination Nurburgring Track Day
I did a private track day on the Nordschleife last monday with a company called Destination Nurburgring. I have used them before and they are definatly the best way to drive on the ring. Full open pitlane with the use of the main straight and no bikes or buses and no 3rd party insurance issues.
My best lap time was 9.12 btg which im happy about as I had my girlfriend in the car and we were also driving to her parents house in Frankfurt the next day so crashing was not an option!
I also have a video which I recoreded using an Iphone app called Harry's Lap Timer. I recored it in HD but i have rubbish internet so i'll redo do it when im back in the UK.
Im always wary about posting 'ring videos as people always judge your driving but at the end of the day I had fun and didnt crash

ive done 58 laps in total now, i managed 22 in the one day last monday.
Too many people get caught up with trying to drive really fast and get great times where I prefer to learn the track and build up slowly
Also i did have specialist track day cover insurance just in case

Looks like you had a great time. Something I have always wanted to do, and now I have got the S have told myself I must pursue.
Video is very impressive as well, good watch.

Looks like you had a great day there. Have always wanted to complete the track on my motorbike, but having had my S for 3 months now what do I take?
Enjoyed the video and your co drivers comments when stuck behind one of the first cars.
Great post mate.

Nice driving, great App! Did you need data enabled for it to work or GPS only? I'm wary of non-local data charges especially if there's a ton of other leechy apps on the phone.
How much did the package cost you and what did it include?

Nice clean lines, tidy lap.
There are sections you're clearly happier in than others, but that'll come and the S2000 doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the high speed roller sections such as PF2 & 3 with the bump steer.
DN events are good fun, I'll probably do one again next year.

The app costs 13 quid which is very good value imo.
It doesn't need any data only gps. You can use the the internal gps in the iphone which is 1HZ but I prefer to use an external gps reciever and get 10HZ. All you do is load up the track and it starts recording when your cross the start line.

Any tips you can throw my way would be good

Not a great deal to say really
You're better at low speed corners than high speed corners unsurprisingly, there's stil a few kerbs (hatzenbach, hocheichen and between foxhole and aremberg) you could use. But the line is mostly there.
The main thing is practice and bravery pills, but even if you stuck at that speed, there's nothing wrong with that. You were passing most things. The high speed stuff can be pretty scary with the rear bump steer in the S. And there's not much room to get it wrong.
