Deep Sadness
I'm going on holiday tomorrow morning and have just parked the S up for 2 weeks
I'm excited about going away but sad that I'll not be driving the S for 2 weeks
Should I seek help? Or is this 'normal'.

In the rush to go away, I tend not think about the car too much (other than worry some scrote will trash it), but by the end of the first week, I develop an unpleasant spasm in my right foot.
By the end of week 2, this becomes almost uncontrollable.....

Off to Madeira. Taking some crochet and lessons in lace making.
Been before, walking boots packed and ready for the Levada Walking.
Where you off to Andy?
Euan I'll watch out for the twitching.

I'm going to Lanzarote tomorrow, for two weeks. It'll mean I won't have driven the S for nearly three weeks when I get back.
I plan on getting a 4x4 for a few days over there.

Jaeg, walking sounds great.
Not on the same scale, but we went up to the Peak District walking a couple of weekends back. Didn't take the S2k through fear of getting it muddy (camping in fields, threat of rain, etc). Did a 8mile Dovedale circuit (half busy, half remote), followed with a short (4-5 mi) Sunday morning circuit around Bakewell.
Thoroughly regretted not taking the S on the Sunday after no rain at all, a gorgeous day, and more quality open-top sports cars than I've seen in a long time:
MR-2s, MG-Fs, some TR Triumphs, MG-Bs, Triumph Spitfires, etc., etc. (fortunately no Boxters, and only one or two CLASSIC Merc softies.)

Jaeger there is a very simple way to get around this - buy yourself an iPod mini and put an mp3 of the engine tone vteccing and take a series of flashing yellow lights to play in front of your eyes to simulate the dash.
Or....take a test drive in one whilst you are a away by searching for a local dealer before you go out and get a refresher whilst there.
It might help
