You can buy tomtom at loads of places. If you use kelkoo.co.uk, you should find a decent price. Remember that if you buy in the States, you will probably need to but the Europe/UK maps as extras.

I use TomTom5 on my ipaq - it does what I need it to and it is fine I'm not suggesting it is the 'best' there is, but it is functional and satsfies my requirements

300 is pretty good as a base model - all I would need!

Ian, what do you do for mounting (so to speak ) and hearing the directions?

I'm having to contemplate plugging some headphones in as music or 50mph+ means the Axim's inaudible but that sucks just a tad

I have a Tomtom Go...... its fairly cheap, fast ... reliable and very simple too use too!

I err.... sell Sat Nav's as part of my trade... and it seems the easiest one I have ever used... (much better than NAVMAN/GARMIN IMO!)

Do the TomTOm's locate all the pubs/clubs/restaurants/hotels etc as well? I need a satnav unit for my limo! Ive seen what the Garmin does and was impressed but if the TomTom is better id go with that!!

Considering this purchase as well!. Was looking at either TomTom or the new Garmin (c320 or c330) that looks very similar to the TomTom. Both seem really good so any opinions on which one is best would be great!. I kinda like the idea of Garmin given their "history" in satnav but not sure if this is actually a valid consideration!.

Also.........one minor thing but it winds me up.......the Garmin apparently has a 12v lead that is integral to the unit bracket which means that even if you want to run it off the internal battery you have a 12v lead flapping around the dash!. Is this true and does the TomTom also have this????.
