Decat + CAI

Decat + CAI
Some advice needed please.
I have a more or less stock MY04. Recently stuck on a decat. I am now considering fitting a cold air intake. So my questions are:
1) Will I have to remap to prevent it running lean?
2) Can this be done on the stock ECU or do I need to upgrade?

Thought of a Snorkel with OEM airbox mod,i also i have a cosworth OEM filter
And depends on the design of cai you have in mind regarding hydro locking.

Thank you for your replies.
What's your opinion on the snorke in - 1) better sound? 2) better airflow?
I was thinking of an AEM style CAI, but a unbranded one off eBay. A member on here has fitted one and rated it highly.

I do, I dont really worry about hydro-locking as I tend not to be a stupid c@#t and drive through water deeper than my intake.

Agree with Mike, I have the AEM V2 so sits as low as a long arm CAI will sit. Doing lots of reading (Especially from other side of the pond) there seems to e lots of people talk and fear hydro lock, but its very rare and wont happen unless you drive through a stream or flooded road.
Mine has the bumper cut out and ducts fitted to get air directly onto the filter. I have driven it in hard rain and no issue.
And again agree with Mike on no ecu or re-map needed. I run de-cat with CAI with no issue. You only really start getting issues when you fiddle with intake and exhaust manifold as they restrict the airflow into / out of the engine.
CAI, de-cat and exhaust....No problem

Just to add a little further reassurance regarding cold air feeds and hydrostatic lock..
I had a CAI on a previous car for many many years, and drove in all weathers up to and including an absolutely sodden tracks, hoovering up the spray of pursued vehicles, and with the throttle wide open - all with no dramas.
As mentioned by others, unless you submerge the inlet in a ford, the volume of water you’ll come across with rain/spray/puddles etc, even on the most English of days, will be comfortably consumed by the combustion process. Worry not.
