Is it possible for a standard car to pass an MOT with just decat and exhaust?

Some cars do pass with a decat but isn't not a certainty on the S2000.

I still don't understand what people are going on about a decat smelling. It's not like when a cat goes bad and everything smells of rotten eggs. My car doesn't smell any different since the decat went on. Perhaps I've just spent too much time around old cars and am used to the smell of an engine running.

Put mine on last night, feels a bit more responsive, but possibly placebo. Nothing major.

Biggest plus in my book is the cheeky little pops it gives on over run sometimes or at down shifts

Firstly, big thanks to Rob for getting hold of the decat at very short notice. He reckoned it was good for around 5hp increase but can't say I've noticed much so far (but then I mostly motorway'd it on the way home).

First impressions are that it's giving a slightly raspier sound in vtec and when throttling back. I may 'feel' the extra power when I take it out later on my favourite roads round here. (e130dan, I'd be very interested to see what your next dyno reading is!).

About to order a K&N FIPK this afternoon to see how the decat and 'better breathing' combo affects throttle response, power, noise etc.

One the whole I'm a very happy chap and recommend Garage R to everyone on here.

+1
I had my cat replaced by Rob as I didn't want to go down the route of a decat. I also had new brakes+discs all round, 72k service and MOT! Phew! Car feels like new again! Great service and a nice chap to boot - I also recommend him!

Have you got it installed with the K&N yet?

How is it? How does it sound?
