Avondale Coventry staff moved to Solihull. They were great when I had mine, thoroughly recommend them. Current Avondale Coventry chaps are ok, but the ones now in Solihull are friendlier IMO.

Dealer Name. Avonvale Honda, Coventry
Workmanship 8
Knowledge of the car 10
Customer Service 10
Sales 10

General Comments: Very friendly and can't seem to do enough... more than showed when they sent Service Manager and Technician on 140 mile round trip to fix brake problem at my home following a service.

The guys i've spoken to have been passionate and knowledgable about the S and the service desk know who you are.

Generally a nice atmosphere around the whole dealership.

Dealer Name. Arnold Clark Honda, Altrincham

Workmanship (bodyshop) 10
Workmanship (service) 8
Knowledge of the car 8
Customer Service 10
Sales unknown

This is feedback following two visits to the above. I have just had the 9k service done & prior to this i'd had a full respray done in July following some vandalism.

The standard of service from the bodyshop has been excellent. Whilst in for it 9k service i had some minor damage to the boot lid (more vadalism-bastards!!) which involved dent removal & a resray of the boot lid itself. On both occasions the bodyshop manager Paul has been great to deal with. Very friendly & obviously cares about the cars. When i took it in back in July for the respray & he saw the damage i swear he almost cried!!

The service side of things has been good but due to the fact i was combining both body & service visits i had no interaction with the service staff. I do not know what fully synth oil was dropped in although Paul who was looking after it was catergorical in saying the right stuff would be used. His attitude did placate any worries i may have had. Having previously spoken to serviceing on th phone about other issues i have had good but limited dealing with the staff. So far everything seems ok.

I've only given 8 for knowledge of the car & workmanship for the sole reason that i didn't have that interaction with the servicing guys so couldn't gauge them. As said though, the workmanship on the body has been excellent & i can't fault them for anything there.

I will be using them again & on the basis of my experience so far i would recommend them.

I've used Peter Brooks Honda with mixed results, although they're conveniently located for me, so I still tend to go there. Gordon Lambs in Chesterfield were actually more helpful when I've had to order any parts in, e.g. having been told that PB couldn't get something, a phone call to GL and the parts were ready for collection in 24 hours . Depends which side of Sheffield you're coming from, but GL's only a quick blast down the A61.

Not tried (or aware of) of any independents though.

This is now my nearest dealer and I was thinking of using them for the next service and to get some disks and pads fitted in March.

Any experiences gratefully received.

I have used Peter Brooks for servicing only once. Seemed to do a good enough job. Shame I cannot say the same about the sales side of things.
