Default To De-cat or not to De-cat, that is the question..

Looking for a slightly deeper exhaust note without going for some monster loud "chav" pipes. Would a de-cat give me that without being "too" loud?

I appreciate that it's never easy to describe a sound on a forum but

Won't make much difference to noise with the standard exhaust system on.

Tried it myself.

Agree with mark, not louder at all. The only thing is a slight rasp.

If you want sound decat and remove resonator.

If you want a nice modest noise then get a CAIK. I removed it prior to the sale to widen the appeal of the car to all markets. Sorry.

More rasp can only be a good thing if you ask me.

ID - CAIK whats that short for? cold air intake ..... .

I would like to do this but with a high flow cat or sport cat so i can pass my MOT, but unsure if they are available for a DBW 07.

Yeah, cold air induction kit.

GaryB - sorry, sold tonight. Take the lid off your airbox, it will give you a rough idea of what an induction kit would sound like. An induction kit will sound better than the lid off, but it gives you an idea!

In fact the sound difference was barely noticable, & a pain to have to replace it every MOT.
