DE-Cat My S Questions
hi all,
i am hopefully collecting my S (2004) on Sat and already looking at parts etc and have a few questions.
my next mod will be to get a Exhaust on the car but i am also looking at a removable Cat i can swap and change as needed.
1:
If i remove the Cat will i get a warning light appear on the dash due to the pressure?
2:
If a light does appear so how can this be solved and will it cause any long term damage?
3:
Will changing the exhaust invalidate my warrenty on the car?
4:
Where is the best place to get a removable De cat pipe in the UK?
5:
Does removing the Cat really make alot of difference or am i best saving the extra

1: Pressure no, but dirty gasses yes, you will get a CEL.
So, you must get a decat pipe with "antifouler" tube.
This is just a stand off pipe to keep the O2 sensor out of the now 'dirty' exhaust stream.
2: Disconnect battery to reset fault alarm, but do as in 1: and it won't happen.
3: Ask the supplier, I doubt it but only they will know the answer.
4: Go to GTSChris, I have used this as have many others. It has the antifouler tube as in 1:

5:Cat alone is pointless. Cat removal normally done on the S2000 to stop annoying drone sound with different exhausts.
Power gains with cat and new sport exhaust almost nothing.
So for performance its a waste on an otherwise stock car.
Just done for sound effects...
