Woogie, you shld have all of that, regardless of durtaion. But you will also need:

1) breakdown insurance for car
2) Log Book
3) Insurance Documents

Optional
Personal accident insurance

and I guess theoretically you still need spare bulbs and a warning triangle. If you get stopped by the police I expect you could see a fine for not having them. But, no idea how much and I guess its quite unlikely to happen....

oh and in the true spirit of S2KI.. Euros, Pants, House Keys, Zaino/Zymol

Woogie, its not that much hassle is it?
- Halfords sell warning triangles which lets face aren't a bad thing to have even in the UK and they don't cost the earth.. Mine fits quite nicely in straps that are there to hold a wheel in place in the boot should you need to do so.
- Breakdown cover is part of your UK Honda Warranty - assuming you got a UK car.
- Log Book and Insurance Docs just need picking up and putting in the car.
- Insurance can be extended over the phone. Mine was only

Am I right in thinking you should be leaving the Snooper at home? Illegal in France?

You are most definitely right. If French Plod catch you with anything resembling a speed detector, even if it's not plugged in and in a cardboard box in the boot, it's a huge fine and they'll have your head on a pole at the gates of Paris. Best not take it then
