I've just been away with the S and put nearly 3K miles on in 3 weeks but coming back up the M25/M11 yesterday afternoon the car developed a strange buzzing noise when on a concrete section of the motorway. Later on I could make the noise by using 5-7K revs. The noise appears to come from behind the speedo and sounds like a cheap radio speaker thats "blown" and someone is talking-or as my wife said a bit like a bee trapped in a tin. I'm hoping to have it looked at by the garage but would like to point them in roughly the right direction. When I searched the forum there was some mention of the wiring loom vibrating??

I occasionally also get this, It appears for no apparent reason and a few vigourous wiggles of the steering wheel generally halts it.... but would love to know what causes it so I can rectify it!!

Yes my thoughts exactly. My rear view sometimes buzzes at about 4k. I quick wiggle of it and it goes away.

I have that kind of rattle coming from behind the instruments, its not my rear view, id checked that after a search on here.

I am stripping my dash out over the next week to re-do my DVD install so it works with my Nokia N95, I will have a search for the rattle and if found let you know what it was.

If you do strip your dash you will need to take off the steering wheel, take care and make sure A: the battery is disconnected and B: the Squib unit (air-bag clock spring) goes back on EXACTLY as you took it off, dont be scared of it, its an easy job, just take time and be careful.
