Nice collection, I still love the look of the older Scoobs, they've got it sooo wrong now

I only had a standard UK turbo for a year, but it was a great car. A mate has a lovely P1 with a decat, which is seriously fast and a lovely looking beast

How did the P1 compare to the S2k's on those roads?

Much better!

(Although not keen on the front lip! It doesn't do anything for the MX5.....)

Right back at ya (although taken when my former steed had been sold to my brother)

The gatecrashers are here

Neil, I love the P1 but for the money the STi Type R is cheaper and you get the active diff. Apart from that, the same as a P1 pretty much (apart from the dodgy lack of UK ECU remap )

On a flat good surface I think the S is better as it turns in sharper and doesnt over / understeer as much. On anything else, ie bumpy, cambers, poor surface, wet etc, the scoob totally kicks arse. I cant describe what one of them with 330 bhp can do round, and out of bends. Real head shaking stuff.

I love this one, stunning car. My fav scoob of them them all. Like the evos I think the older generation looks so much better.

Looking at all you guy's previous cars, I'll avoid embarrassment with mine

On bumpy roads the really quick Scoobies (P1, classic STi) leave the S2000 for dead, the suspension just promotes confidence on these cars whereas the S2000 feels nervous and jumpy.

And I'm the chav, but my cars spend all their time on deserted country roads which is what the Scooby was made for. None of this driving round supermarket carparks and town centres for me

Great pics! Never been in love with any of my previous cars, but I do love my current S and hope the new one has the same appeal.

I have always had a soft spot for scoobs, didn't have the bottle to get one recently when I had the choice. It was as fast as I hoped for and the handling was great, just didn't 'cut it' for me. The tyres were shite too, although that was an easy thing to remedy. I think I felt like I was coming into the Scoob game 10 years too late.

After the S, finding the 'X factor' in a car is a tricky business.

Very true Moff. The newer cars just dont do it for me. I think I could live with the brand new shape, as its a *bit* more like the classic, but you get in a well sorted MY00 STi and its raw as you like. No driving aids and the Type R has no ABS either, and you can have it in rear wheel drive mode. The RA is even better, its got window winders!

Alas the image of the classic is very poor now, and I dont like pikeys waving at me with fogs blaring
