Default Cylinder 1,2,3,4 and random misfire

Hi guys,
A bit ago i got a CEL light come on, it came on after about 200miles, i reset my ecu then again it came on at about 150 miles after. But afterwards the CEL went off and hasn't come on again. But i thought i use my new obd2 reader today.

I have got a AUTEL OBD2 port reader, it told me basically that i had a random misfire and cylinder 1,2,3 and 4 had misfired at some point.

I'm wondering what the route of this problem? The car is fine and hasn't seemed to misfire to me at all, car runs smooth. But i read in some posts i possibly need to replace the spark plugs, the car was last serviced about 5 months ago.

I'm newish to the car and i remember once or twice me starting the car after a long stand and after a few minutes vtecing it, which the car didn't like and hesitated. But after a few minutes the car vteced fine. I really should have let it warm up.

The car has done 84k miles and is a MY00

Cheers

Too tricky to diagnose I think. I would reset the ECU and see if you get the CEL again, then put the fault reader on there.

If its all 4 detecting a misfire, thats a bit odd! You then need to look at what is common to all those cylinders, ie fuel pump, filter etc etc..

If the car runs fine I wouldnt worry just yet. When were the plugs last chaged? You can easily check them.

Have the plugs been replaced?
If not then you do need new one's.

Cheers guys for your reply.

Im going to check the plugs at the weekend, but i think its maybe due to the rev limiter kicking in when i havent warmed the car up properly as it kicked in 2 times in the past - could this cause misfires?

I know silly of me not warming up properly :s

Well there is a rev cut when the car isnt up to temp, but not sure if it will generate a CEL. Possibly it can because it will just cut the fuel. The CEL would have come up almost straight away though.
