FedEx tried it with me. I ignored them and they went away. The fact that the item was valued at $50 and sent as a gift and they tried to charge me

You will not have heard the last of that.
Like UPS etc, FedEx will have paid the duty on your behalf and will come after you for the money.

Mine were sent by DHL.

When I was at Uni I ordered a load of DVDs from American sites when they were films were cheaper and out earlier that way... got the odd letter from DHL saying about a

Leave it 3 weeks and see if yuou hear anything else from them. Make them work for their money.

Might make them sweat but I've done that before with a parking ticket and it went up and up and up. it ended up with a car clamp and

Well, on the brakedown none of it was VAT!

And on all of the postings that have gone through USPS/RM, I haven't paid a penny.

Just seems a bit dubious, thats all especially as I mentioned that part of the charge was for 'Delivery'

It has been over 12 months so I think i'm safe
