Default cruising on M25 this morning

I was really hankering after a 7th gear - anyone think this might be useful and if Honda made a 7 speed box it would be a unique selling point too IMHO since F1 use 7 speeds (I know the F1 cars are geared to very high top speed but dropping a 1000 revs off the engine speed in the S2000 at 80mph would be nice on a long run

But surely there is no need to travel beyond 70mph on the motorway - I believe it may even be illegal !

yep, the 6th gear is a bit pointless. But i think if it had a lower ratio it would never hit 150mph, not that it is advisable to do that on the M25 in the morning.

I completely agree, its a real pain hitting the rev limiter in 6th all the time isnt it ?

R.

ps - 80 mph on the M25 ? surely you were dreaming, I think you mean 8 mph.

5.20 on the M25 and all is fine and dandy - everything was doing 80mph minium apart from HGV's a fair proportion of the traffic must have been knocking on the door of 100 quite easily

lane discpline seems superb at that time of the morning too - no lane hoggers just everyone making steady and in some cases rapid progress

Oh okay .. not you then ... I drive between Junction 30/31 and 26 everyday and I see the same Silverstone going clockwise around junction 28 everyday.

Never reacts in any way to my horn blasts or flashes.

Probably asleep like the rest of them.

7th gear huh .... interesting ....... I can envisage some red line action at around 110 ... depends what your racing against ..... errrr hypothetically speaking of course because you should not race on any British road ...... IT ILLEGAL YOU KNOW !!!!!!
