Maplin, screwfix and RS Components also sell silicon grease. Spray get every where!

I don't have a hard top (too hardcore me ) but I presume the front catches are identical to those on the soft top. These are not adjustable!? Check the strikers have not worked lose or worn!

On the soft top the adjustment for position is behind the plastic trim attached just in side the door latch, believe it or not! One lock bolt either side! This would have no effect on the hard top though!

Grease the soft top joints as well. Use white lithium grease - comes in spray cans. There's actually a US dealer bulletin showing how to do it somewhere. A lot of the noises with the hardtop on can be from the stowed softop moving about.

i've narrowed this down a bit now - it's only the front left side of the roof that creaks - and it only starts doing it a good while after the roof has been freshly fitted - so when it starts i can stop the car and undo all the latches (back first, then front) then redo the latches (front first, then back) - and it'll then be fine again for a good while.

just seems to maybe work itslef a bit loose or something at that side after a while.

called hyndland honda on friday morning to ask of the had any shin-etsu in stock - the guy person said "what's that?!" - guess no one has ever asked them for it before - guy took my number and said he'd call me back - still waiting...
