Amazing how many people will tell the new guys how dodgy these things are,
and then go on to proclaim what a fantasic handling car it is.

Odd...

Are all RWD's not susceptible to lairy moments or is the S2000 particulary bad compared to other RWD cars?

It's not just the S2000, but all double wishbone Honda's I have driven are aggressive and pointy. That is why I love them

The S2000 is noteable because, unlike with an FWD obviously, once you start oversteer, you can't just mash the throttle to recover.

And keeping on mashing the throttle, any damp patch, cold tyres, dodgy camber, even on a straight road, may invoke brown trousers time.

I have driven a few other RWD performance cars, (200SX, Sierra Cossie, E30 BMW 325) and all of them are far less likely to send you into a hedge.

The better your throttle control, the more abusive you can be.

My advice to you would be to get yourself on an airfield track day, and spin the car a few times - really find the limits.

The information I gained from spinning was immense as you could really feel the chassis and you could begin to truly interpret the information

Just be careful though and whatever you do - DON'T SHOW OFF YOUR MATES or you will end in that afore mentioned hedge

Congrats, worth saying again.. don't show off to your mates.. it will bite you.
And again.. a track day or 2 is worth its weight in gold.

And don't try and slide it about.

When i was 21 i had a 200sx (200bhp rwd) and meet a lamp post trying to drift it (before drifting was a sport). I lost. learn from that

I hope we don' get a hedge/kerb/wall thread in a few weeks..
