Default The cost price of a new S

Got a nice letter from my Honda dealership today saying that next Friday to Monday I have the opportunity buy a Honda for cost price..... ANY MODEL !!!!! Only extra you have to pay is registration etc and they'd also do a part ex. Just need to ring them and make an appointment.

So I was just wondering if anyone knew the cost price of a brand new S ?

Anybody else had this offer before ? Can't see it being all that simple though Sounds a bit too good to be true if you ask me !

You can guarantee PX will be unbelivably low to cover the cost. Go and ask them how much for a cash deal. I reckon cost to dealer is around

I don't think it will be that cheap. Mark up on cars is pretty small. Dealer will still make money on the deal on the bonuses paid from Honda. From my experience dealers tend to make more money on the manufacture bonus than actual mark up.

I bet you don't get it for EU import price -

Are they 05 models they're shipping out prior to getting the 06's in?

Could be selective marketing, eg. they know you drive an S and aren't likely to buy a Civic so try and get rid of the old stock??

Or it could be as satated... tantalisingly close to getting a higher discount from Honda for the next twelve months and only a nat's knacker short of reaching the threshold of cars they must shift in this period.

If it turns out genuine let me know and i'll do a deal with em.

The letter says:

"As a valued customer we're offering you, your friends and family the opportunity to buy any model at cost price from friday 13th jan until monday 16th january, providing it is registered by march 31st 2006. The only other costs to be paid are those of delivery and registration, as on all new vehicles

We also have available part exchange and finance facilities; you can choose the payment method(s) that suits you best. There will literally never be a better time to buy a new Honda !!! "

Like RAB said, the mark up would be very minimal... so if you'd prob get one for only about

The 31st March is the important bit.

They will need to hit volume targets by the end of the finanical year to qualify for bonus payments from Honda.

Great time of year to get a decent deal on a new car.
