I think Honda should simply prevent each owner making repeated alloy wheel warranty claims, cut its losses, and buy in at trade a selection of OZ, Blitz and Volks wheels for us to choose from!

At least Honda wouldn't face all these warranty claims!

I reckon that Honda are just getting the returned wheels refurbished and sending them back out.

I think that might be a bit risky sending out refurb wheels. Just imagaine the amount of time/ work involved in ensuring that there is not a problem with the wheel. let alone the refurb itself.

Quick update.

Took plenty of digi photos of the wheels. Dealer's agreed to put my case to Honda - usefully said that Honda find it easy to tell dealers to bugger off in this situation but much less easy to do the same to direct approach from customer. I'll see what happens.

regarding refurb - he says Honda won't be responsible for consequences of wheel failure follwing refurb. Appraently the process can weaken the wheel - is this true or b*****s?

For what it's worth I clean the wheels at least once a week so I don't think it's cumulative brake dust that's the problem.

On a lighter note my other half's just ordered an RX8. What a pair of rev-happy bunnys we're gonna be!
