Default Cooling Plate / Panel

Hi guys,

Still ever in the indecisive phase of going either K&N or AEM V2 intake, I came across these in the states:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/00-01-02-0...item53f8c91289

They seem like a good combination to use with the K&N, and even the stock intake before getting the K&N.

Has anyone got one? They worth bothering with? Fit with a standard bonnet?

Thanks.

I've got one, not sure what brand it is though. Mine's fitted to the OEM air box. I can't say I have felt a difference but it looks nice when you open the bonnet. One thing I have noticed is that I have to actually push the bonnet shut now rather than drop it from a small height.

Which would be a good test, if I'd already bought the K&N

You can adjust the bonnet catch to raise or lower it, so I could fix it. I just can't be bothered!

You can adjust the catch at the front. From memory there are three bolts for this, and there are two rubber "screws" on the front wings that you can screw in/out as well. Both together help with this adjustment.

I have one of these as it sort of goes hand in hand with the KN induction kit. Cant say i notice any difference but when on track i never suffer any heat related issues. If im stuck in traffic then inlet temps can get to 50+ degress but thats because there is minimal air flowing past the air temp sensor so it never cools down. As soon as your moving again it cools down.

I have noticed that the front facing side of the air filter is alot dirtier than the other side so it must be sucking up air from that area. You need to cut the OEM shroud below the cooling plate otherwise its pointless installing this as it wont see any air flow.
