Default Combined Key/alarm fob

Has anyone ever tried a combination key and fob like the one in the following link? It seems you just transfer the electronics across. I was thinking it would be nice to not have the alarm fob dangling on my leg all the time.

Any experiences?

I doubt if thats going to work, the S2000 has some system that most key specialists can't access and Honda want £170 just for the key and programming.

(Mines a facelift with Honda alarm)

Yep, according to the ad, it just says that you transfer the electronics (which presumably includes the chip) across to the new key. But I've never taken the key apart, so I don't know whether it's really possible.

The chip is moulded into the key.

Ah, so it's a case of carefully sawing apart the key without damaging the chip? Maybe I'll pass...!

I have the one in the 'before' in the advert. It's not a major issue, but just thought it would be a neat solution for a tenner.

As it involves some fairly major hacking apart of the key, I probably won't bother.

You could just put the fob on a ring with your house keys and leave the key on it's own.
