Default Collapsing Seat Side Bolster

I have noticed the side bolster on my driver side seat is collapsing.
Dealer tells me this is fair wear and tear.
Problem is the car is a MY00, but only has 19k miles on it!
It has the extended warranty which the dealer claims does not cover this!

Anybody got a similar problem?
Anybody solved the problems. If so how?
I have discovered and automotive upholsterer near me. Considering letting them have a look and see if they can do any reconstructive surgery!

Hi mike, yeah I have the exact same problem, my car is also MY00 but has 40K on the clock. Im sure this happens due to the restricted space in getting into the S. As i dont have warrenty im just living with it at the mo. Providing your local upholster gives a reasonable price I would let them have a go, its not rocket science and is not really much different from any other car. I also no the Integra type R suffers from the very same problem.

My car is an MY99 and has done 35k approx.

Bolster seems to be in good condition, so I would suggest that you push this further with the dealer, we all know that they are prone to large bouts of

Mine's not too bad at 70k miles tbh, although all bucket seats suffer from this to some extent. A seat specialist should be able to sort it fairly easily, it'll just be a new piece of foam I should imagine.

I think some people have had them replaced, not sure what ages the cars were though. Mine is a little saggy but not that bad.

Forgot to say, MY02 with 18k.

Mine is a little flatter and a little saggy but not bad at all for a 36K MMY00

Mine was a little worn so I had it replaced. Went to the dealer (mine had done 37,000 miles). Said the seat is worn, he took photos and replaced the bolster and re covered the whole seat . Only thing is the seat is now a slightly diff shade of black to the passenger seat although wear and tear may sort this out. Anyway its a new seat Have 6 months left of my warranty so will have to try to find a few other things

Mine is quite badly creased, but does not seem to have collapsed (which is surprising considering my err.. weight).

I think at 4 years old, you'd be pushing it to get anything from the dealer.

IIRC Roadkill had his side bolster replaced under warranty also.

Mikey I'd be interested in your findings. Mine's an MY00 with 22k and mine is sagging !

I did look to replacing the seats with better ones but don't know if I can be bothered.
