So was it the damping that was the issue or the quality of the materials?

Who knows? The bottom line is that the springs and dampers should ride properly, that's their primary purpose, which they didn't fulfil. Even if they were made of unobtanium it wouldn't matter.

Think of it like Audi, all the journos rave on about how wonderful the build quality is, but we all know how relatively unreliable they are.

If you're going to Autosport check out booth number 8746. They're relatively new to market over here in Europe but are becoming very popular and are the control coilover in the 2015 Tegiwa Civic Cup.

With regards the Gaz items, all I've ever experienced is junk, had them on a CRX many moons ago, and the MX5 series in 750MC use them and they all run round on the bump stops! Gaz have never looked into making a decent setup for those guys, even though there're the control coilover.

Haha, you could probably buy another S for the price of Hipermax coilovers

Considered budget option in comparison to Ohlins or Nitron. I like Nitron by my wallet doesn't

What Holden do you have? I sold my Monaro VXR 500 earlier on this year and it had a full system Wortec exhaust with the Pedder coilovers. It used to have AVO's on before but they were crap! I do miss that beast

As to the coilover question I think I will go for the Blistein's but am tempted by the KW fully adjustable coilovers too. I think my budget may have increased slightly

Kieran, have you done anything more with this? Which KW's are you looking at?

Been looking at the KW V2's as you can get these for just under £1,200 and the Bilstein PSS-9 as I have managed to find them for around £1,100 + customs:

I have Varient 3's on mine and am happy with them for the money.

Stainless struts and plastic adjuster cups mean less worries about corrosion and siezed adjusters in the future, and from past experience KW's dampers tend to last well.

You can set them up to be very soft, but in my opinion at this point they are also bouncy and do not offer the same control as when run slightly stiffer. I tinkered with them a lot after they were fitted and have settled around the factory settings with an extra click of rebound all round. I would say the ride is firm but not harsh over the bumps and feels very planted on smoother surfaces, they are little worse than standard suspension on the really bumpy stuff but I would say this is to be expected with most coilovers. I have also changed to AD08 tyres and found these to cushion bumps better than the factory Potenza's.

Dan on here runs HSD's and these seam to be a little more compliant on bumpy roads than mine, I expect similar to how the Bilsteins ride. If your car sees a lot of road miles these may be the better option.

I am yet to take my car on track but will be doing a few days this year and expect the KW's to perform well. They have a lot of adjustment, and when run stiffer on smooth surfaces they feel superb.
