Default Cockpit buzzing on Vtec

For the last few months when I have hit vtech and at certain RPM's I get a really annying buzzing I think from some trim somwhere in the cockpit. It is a pain in the ass to locate at 50mph in Vtech!!

Anyone got any suggestions on how to locate it or what to do if I find it? Bit if expanding foam no more gaps might get messy!
I have heard people mention silicone but I assume that this is for squeaks rather than buzzing/rattling?

its not the ringing shifter issue is it? Try putting some pressure on teh gearlever to the side when you vtecing and see of the problem reduces. If so, its a relatively easy fix.

Mine vibrates at 8k rpm in any gear. But I don't really care as it's something in the dash and at 8k rpms I have better things to concentrate on

This sounds like the same thing as i've got, same revs too. mine sounds as if its coming from the passenger footwell, under there somewhere.

Mine is definitely part of the car. I have emptied the glove box and cup holder...

It is getting a bit embarrassing razzing down the Finchley road on part throttle at 6000rpm in the morning!!

I find this sort of thing SO annoying, it is loud enough that it totally kills the joy of VTEC. If I don't find it I will sell the car!

The rear view mirror in mine used to make a notable buzzing noise at 3.5k rpm. It took me weeks to track it down as it did sound like it was coming from the dash.
