Default Clutches and Gears

THis may have been done, i've tried checking but the other problem don't seem to be this specific. Have and 05 55 S2000, bought as an ex demo in June 06. Just done 9500 miles. But recently it has started to come out of first gear when in traffic. particularly on a hill. Also when in traffic, when you put it into 1st the car jumps forward a small amount when it goes into gear. Has anyone had the same problem? If not what are your thoughts? Clutch? Gearbox, gearbox mountings, engine mountings?
The clutch does feel a little high on biting point but is still very light!
Look forward to your thoughts!

Have a look at the FAQ. I seem to remember that this was a problem with a few cars of this era and some got replacement gearboxes out of it.

I had this problem, especially when in rush hour traffic. Told the service manager i thought it was dangerous. He telephoned HUK and within a week I had a new box fitted.

Take it to the dealer log it as an issue now. Get the diff and gearbox oil replaced. If it continues to do it insist on a warrant replacement!

Mine does this slightly too. MY05 55 plate with 8.5k miles

Not noticed forward movement, but deff know cogs are engaging - it almost feels like 1st gear locks into place.

Had several RWD cars before so presumed this was a usual S trait?!

Not had it pop out of gear yet, but only done 200 miles in the 4 weeks of ownership

But it becomes my daily drive in 2wks

Yep - had a colleague who had no 5th gear for the same reason. Gearbox replaced a couple of weeks before his warranty expired!

Mine has popped out of 4th occasionally (maybe 2 or 3 times) but only when the weather is cold and I'm driving gently and not accelerating. So far I've assumed I can't have engaged the gear properly, but if this continues then it seems I have a problem.
