Ideal cheers for all the help, job got scuppered by getting jacks and stands underneath. Think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and change the clutch!
Did do the IAC valve, which has made a pleasant difference to the idle!

Sometimes, only when VTEC'ing through the gears, I feel some feedback through the clutch pedal

is this normal? Clutch engages fine but the feedback is of concern.

if your handy with a set of spanners a s2000 is probably one of the most simple cars to do a clutch change on being rwd and having a sealed unit gearbox.
will take you most of 1 day to do it but worth it considering you can save £2-300 in labour bills

Those labour bills are £400-£500 if you go to a Honda dealer, and IMHO you should not underestimate the problems of changing the clutch. There are good videos on Youtube that show this.

Oh well if you want to spend £800 plus before checking the cheap and obvious go ahead.

No I'm having the simple stuff checked first while its on the ramps. But I've a feeling from whats been described by others that it is on the way out.

High clutch point, no feel, fluid not changed, but not slipping. Still sounds like fluid/bleed and adjust. Hope you havn't convinced them, that you are convinced, that you want a new clutch, as they will probably oblige.
Too many doom seers on this forum.

No I've got a very honest mechanic he won't order a part until he's sure that's all it needs. Even down to asking me to check for likely problems and cures on the forum to give him a clue.

Realise I never got back on this. Mechanic dropped the box and found the clutch down to the rivets. Clutch plate also had several hot spots. So all in all totally buggered.
He did mention the box had been off recently and copious amounts of grease applied. Seemed strange that they went to great lengths to check the clutch and decided to change it but ho hum.
Car was a revelation much better pick up and lighter clutch pedal.
And all done for under 800 quid.
