Default clutch pedal disable function

lads ,

is there supposed to be a switch tied into the clutch to stop you starting the car with it in gear or if engine is running.

seems to make sense is so muppet leaned into the car while you where chatting with engine running and pressed the starter button.................... goodby starter ring gear

also looking desperetly for a silverstone rear tow eye cover, ordered one from locla honda duds in oct and cancelled it yesterday .funnily enough they got my 04 wheels in 36hrs.

cheersz

The starter button will only fire if the clutch is in.
It will grind if the engine is already running.

Only on imports. UK cars don't have this 'feature'

Really? This was a shocker for me when I tried to drive it from the dealers and couldn't start the engine (despite the key being turned.)

The low petrol guage was a shocker also, but that was cos there was no petrol in it.
I got 20 quid from the dealer for petrol though. But then I had just transferred 10 grand into his account to pay for the car.

Yeah it's definatley not a feature on the UK models, I didn't even realise it was a feature on my JDM for days after purchasing it until the GF tried to start it and couldn't.

Evidently I'm in the habit of putting the clutch in before starting it anyway. I have a feeling that goes back to when I used to drive my Dad's car and he'd always leave it in gear!
