Default CLutch kit

do we have a supplier-of-preference for clutches?

my clutch is nearing it's end of life and i'll be needed a replacement sometime soon. almost lasted 90k which i dont think is too bad on a 2000my

off a recent clutch thread, a honda kit will cost around £500 which ime a similar spec can be had for alteast £100 cheaper.

i have no real preference on make - OE or performance, but swaying to OE-spec simply down to cost as i see no real benefit with performance parts on a stock S.

it's not really urgent, but i doubt it'll last much more than 1-2months.

If ACT is cheaper or very similar price, go for it...they have been recommended several times now

ACT anything, or something specific?

plenty of ACT stuff on ebay - £380 for the street package. thing thats putting me off is it's a USA seller, thus no doubt some import taxes and if things do go wrong, they'll take weeks to sort!

£380 is interesting for a better-than-OE product with a good rep on these forums.

is there a UK ACT seller - cant find much on google?

another thing i forgot to ask, are the UK and JDM clutches all the same? ebay sugests theres only 1 for the S2000.

AFAIK, yes I would double check this however...a quick PM to Dembo would confirm or deny this.

You could always trawl through the S2KUK discount page and see if any of the sellers on there sell them

Yes...and the pilot bearing...and the rear crank oil seal. If it we me doing the job, I'd do whatever is accessible at the time...wouldn't want to drop the gearbox again in the near future.

Preventative maintenance is good

I don't know 100% which component you're on about

I suspect you mean the pressure plate, and yes...I would replace this too They usually come with the clutch plate.

If your going aftermarket check that the kit comes with a release bearing as most don't and Honda charge quite a bit for them.
