im with s2ktim... VTEC only in the dry.

You can spin without VTEC, and you can drive with VTEC in the wet perfectly safely. What you need is throttle control. VTEC doesn't mean full throttle.

Like what Nick said.

Another reason why our insurance premiums continue to rise...

It's basic logic it's going to bite you if you do that in the wet!

Is this Deja-Vu?
Or did I read another thread just like this recently.

I have to admit to being completely stumped by all these tales.
The rear of my car is never out of shape unless I want it to be.

It was a bit wayward before adding a bit more rear toe in, but if anything it understeers and still does.

There are a lot of people who seem unable to "feel for traction" in this car. Perhaps the many years of riding big bikes helps here?

VTEC is not an on/off switch BTW.
The Turbo on my TDi Passat is WAY more violent!

Although I have never riden a bike.

I think if you are half decent, you get a feel for what the car will and will not do, quite quickly...

Yep and mine was in 30 degrees, perfect conditions as well, that takes a special kind of effort

Just for the sadists amongst you

I think it's probably crashing the bike that learns you it hurts and to wake up & not to do it again.

I think most bikers thus feel the S2000 is a pussycat. An R1's a bit trickier out of a wet corner, on or off-cam.

Thing is, these days, many people learn to drive on a Playwithyourselfstation & have no idea that physics are involved.

Cold tyres caught me out once overtaking on a straight in the dry.

In the wet, you can easily feel that rear end and you know of impending doom if you are lead footed!

btw - not to say that vtec is a complete no in the wet, it just takes alot more skill than just flooring it like you would a beater.
new owners to the S should stay out of it untill they are more comfortable with catching it and knowing how it will react

i've still tons to learn but love getting the arse out on a damp morning to improve my skills.
