Default Cleaning products

Read many different threads, need to buy some stuff, shampoo, maybe clay (never used this though ever!) and stuff to make the roof look blacker than it currently is! What do you all use?

Many Thanks
Ben

Try getting a Zaino Z-kit1 for all the basic bits and bobs to go from dirty car to nice shiny car with clay bar etc etc.

As for a black roof use protectant 303 - does the job wonderfully - reminds me, mine needs doing.

lazy boy technique

Wash with fairy liquid
Clay it to get tar etc off
Meguirs NXT Tech wax (one coat on, can be done wet and easy to take off)
Wash with any half decent car shampoo after that

i use Renovo for the roof. contains UV protector and makes water bead. never had an issue with running onto the paint either (as some people get with 303).

for the bodywork:

i use the turtle wax shampoo that comes in the bright green bottles (is it MAX WAX?)
Meguiars quik clay
Meguiars Scratch X
Meguiars 3-stage Deep Crystal system (polish/ paint cleaner/ carnauba wax)

i've had some excellent results AND it set me back about a third of the cost of a Zaino kit (
