I recently had to go to CES in Vegas for work and while I was over there picked up something that I'd always wanted...

A Porter-Cable.

For those of you that don't know, it's what they use in America for polishing cars, it's a bit like an angle grinder but it has an orbital as well as rotational action so it's difficult to do much damage to your paint.

My S is currently in temporary hibernation, but my brother has an MR2 as his daily driver which he bought a few months ago.

He's gone on a skiing trip this week and it's his birthday while he was away so I decided to treat his car to a much needed clean and overhaul.

I thought I'd share the process I used in case it's of interest to anyone out there so here goes.

1. Wash with Zymol using lambs wool mits and the two bucket (wash and rinse water) method.
2. Dry with a Waffle Weave Towel
3. Clay Bar the entire car
4. Using the PC and a yellow Meguiar's buffing pad, polish the whole car with #82 Swirl Free Polish
5. Using the PC and a beige pad, apply Vanilla Moose paint cleaner and glaze
6. Using the PC and another beige pad, apply Poorboys EX-P sealant

I'm thinking to go over the whole car with P21s wax, but he's back on Saturday and I don't think I'll have time with it being so cold!

One final thing... I didn't buy all of this stuff in America, a lot of this can be bought from suppliers in the UK! Near where I live is a brilliant store called 'Clean and Shiny'

I do have a quesion as well actually....

Has anyone here used Langka Touch up blob remover? As you can see from my details, my S is a Nurby Blue Met and there are a few annoying chips on the bonnet, I'm thinking to try this out but thought I'd see if there was anyone else out there that already had some experience of the product.

i know serious performance from my skyline days, really good co to deal with and loads of products.

i was going to get them to put a pack together for my car.

The Porter Cable is really good, i have seen some skylines cleaned with it and they looked amazing.

Ah, before I can't do, besides it looked so bad it wouldn't be fair to my brother, embarassing!

After I can do and believe me it is good.

When I first tried a clay bar I was astounded, these are cheap and easy to get hold of, even Halfords sell the Meg's one! If you've not used one, buy one now.

The PC is also good, but a little expensive really. Don't get me wrong, the results ARE well worth it!

It's ok, no problem. I'm impatient too. I'd have liked to have posted some images, but it's always dark when I get home in the evenings so it's not been possible.

Actually my plan is to take some good photos this Saturday and get one printed and framed as part of his b'day gift.

God I'm a good brother aren't I!
