Cleaning comptech air filter for SC
Hi,
Has anyone cleaned a comptech foam filter for an SC, with a k&n cleaner.
I pretty sure you can't use the k&n oil but I'm unsure about using the cleaner, as it may damage it or cause it to perish???
Cheers

Used a couple of types on my foam filter.
At the end of the day it is just foam on a metal mesh
Last time;
Brush all the dead insects off
Soak it in soapy water for an hour (don't use washing powder it attacks metal)
Dry it off really well!
Light spray with filter oil (don't over oil or it will look get pulled through making a right mess )
Leave an hour to soak
Wipe of excess and wrestle back on to the spigot
I take the box and elbow out to do this now

always rinse from inside to out so any crap is washed away rather than pushed deeper into the foam. usually a very light dose of fairy liquid and warm water is enough and as Mikey says a hint of oil to finish of with
