This is the thing, you will hear about complaints.

On average someone who has had good service tells one person

Someone who has had bad service tells 12.

[QUOTE=Lady Road Runner,Aug 13 2008, 08:53 PM] I was going to accept the Adrian Flux quote until I received a pm on another car forum advising me against them. I did a search on AF on this forum and a few other car forums and some people have had administration problems with them.

The guys I spoke to at AF, particularly the supervisor of the S2000 section, were very helpful and answered every question I asked honestly. They were also prepared to give me terms that I was happy with other than an excess of

Hi
We can get the 'driving other cars' extension added if you are over 25 - no problem.

Kind regards

I have taken out cover today through Chris Knot, and I am 30 - does this mean the "driving other cars" extension will be included?

Also, no extra credit card charge was mentioned to me at the point of payment for the insurance, so I presume that this is not the case?

Many thanks,
Kevin

I am over double 25 and was not offered the removal of 'driving any other cars'. I even phoned back and queried it!!

What are people's feelings on here about personal accident cover? I have since found out this is not included with some insurers for all convertables (odd to blanket them all, considering for example the S2000 has a 4 star Euro NCAP rating)?

I have put the definition below but I would point out that you are covered for any personal injury to third parties including passenger liability, and that personal accident is an added benefit in case of you causing your own injuries in terms of DEATH, TOTAL LOSS OF ONE OR MORE LIMBS, PERMANENT BLINDNESS IN ONE OR BOTH EYES. These are the only things that Personal Accident normally covers.

So, to be honest, it is not an everyday occurrence and is rarely claimed for but of course can happen.

The definition is -

Personal Accident is -

If you, your husband, your wife or your civil
partner (as defined in the Civil Partnership Act
2004) are involved in a car accident, insurers will
pay the amounts shown below if, within three
months of the accident, it directly causes one of
the following:

[QUOTE=Lady Road Runner,Aug 13 2008, 07:19 PM] Re the credit card charge - it comes under 'Charges' - 'Terms of Business' and is on the back of my quotation.

In 'Additional Notes' on the quotation ' Driving other cars excluded' has been added but I did clarify this point on the phone with them.

Sorry, don't know about cancelling a policy once it has started.

This year, I've done a lot of research before accepting a quote (which I still haven't done) and have put the following questions together for asking insurance companies/brokers:-

1. How much is the premium?
2. How much is the insurance company

Karen you may want to add is european cover included to your questions, Its useful to have specially if you fancy a road trip.
Yes, worthwhile question.

You generally get 90 days free European cover, which is on the same basis as you have in the UK.

Kind regards
Tim
