Im with Sky insurance at the moment. Im paying a small fortune due to my age and I just managed to get 5 points in the last 3 months on my licence which has otherwise been clean.

I rang Sky to tell them this but they said it doesnt affect my premium at all.

It REALLY pisses me off insurers saying that points will put the premium up. Everybody who does any significant milage nowadays IS going to get points eventually.

On top of this I know many people who dont even mention points to their insurers. I know this is wrong and if they had a crash they could be severely in the sh**, if insurers didnt load the premium for very insignificant offences there wouldnt be these lies. REALLY GETS MY GOAT. 99% of the time what they do is just free money anyway. BAS**RDS.

I've just had an excellent quote from Chris Knott - nice friendly, helpful staff and the best quote for my 2 cars, so I have just taken out the policy.

I'm still trying to decide who to insure with. Chris Knott did give a good quote but I didn't understand why I was told that they wouldn't insure me third party to drive another vehicle because the S is technically a soft-top. Also, I wasn't impressed with their personal accident cover - up to

Chris Knott did not mention a credit card charge to me - if there is one I will not be happy, so i will phone them back to check.

Also, I did not think to ask if I would be covered to drive other vehicles 3rd party - I assumed this was a given.

If this is the case, then I would probably have to cancel the policy. Does anyone know what the options are for cancelling, if the cover has not actually started?
Re the credit card charge - it comes under 'Charges' - 'Terms of Business' and is on the back of my quotation.

In 'Additional Notes' on the quotation ' Driving other cars excluded' has been added but I did clarify this point on the phone with them.

Sorry, don't know about cancelling a policy once it has started.

This year, I've done a lot of research before accepting a quote (which I still haven't done) and have put the following questions together for asking insurance companies/brokers:-

1. How much is the premium?
2. How much is the insurance company
