Whats the earliest I can get a quote before renewal is due Tim? i.e. how long is a quote valid for?

I would recommend to ring when you receive the renewal papers through but quotes are valid for 30 days.

Both Alderley and Wilmslow are SK9 indeed. So I am really surprised there is no cover available in SK9-12 as allegedly these fall within risk band B, i.e. pretty low risk.
