That's how the dealer supplied mine ( got to love that 76 point used car inspection etc etc blah blah). I didn't expect it to be that bad but as above, I reckon an inch or so of slack was removed.

I think from my experience, it's a DIY job as most Dealers just won't know it should be done.

Hmm, wonder if I have over tightened it a tad. I made sure the cam was hard against the stop with about a 1/4 inch of play in the cable. I'll check again after the drive home tonight while the engine is hot and make sure. Mine idles at just under 1000 rpm when warm, does this sound about right?

Just under 1000 when warm is fine.

As long as the throttle arm is not lifted from it's resting position it will be fine.

1/4 play is about optimum.

Thought so, thanks. I did give my MAP a "Whack" while I was tinkering which probably explains the smoother idle.

Yep do it on all mine
The Honda workshop manual contradicts this though I guess this is why they came out of the factory that way.
Any one looked at it on a DBW car

After doing on the first S2k and feeling an improvement I did it with works van I was using, top speed went from 65 to 95 it was so bad, I did all the vans in the fleet so everyone was happy, even the accounts dept since fuel consumption improved because now we didn't have to drive them so hard. Result.

Had a look at mine today. Didn't look baggy but once I poked it there was about 1/2 - 3/4 inch play! Soon sorted that out, massive difference! Now I can drive in slow traffic without looking like a berk who can't control his clutch.

I can't decide if this is a foolish question or not, but if I floor it now will I accelerate quicker since the throttle can fully open as there is no 'dead area' between the pedal and the floor? Or does the ECU decide what mix is more appropriate for me past a certain point?
