Default Cheap rear speakers install

So the rear speakers are now in. I got someone at work to cut the panels after marking them out myself and I managed to bodge some pins to fit in the wiring harness using some ISO pins (free from my local car hifi shop :thumbup) some pliers and some wire cutters. the wiring diagram is on the bottom of the stock Honda HU.

A couple of things to note -

1) I've lost the last reclining position of my seat as the seat hits the speakers. It seems alright at the moment but if it becomes uncomfortable the speakers will have to go

2) The Pioneer 5.25 speakers do fit but you have to turn the grills upside down as they have a sticky-out bit which says Pioneer (or reenoiP now )

3) I can feel the bass in my back, but I really doubt this will be a problem on the move knowing the S's ride

It's pissing down now so I haven't tried them on the move, but they are a great improvement when stationary Listen to the rear speakers by themselves and they sound awful - no bass (there must be no space for them to move any air back there) - but with the fronts on as well they do improve things immensely.

Total Cost for the install -

Yep, stock HU. I don't think it sounds too bad with some decent speakers. I'm 99% sure my fronts have been upgraded by the previous owner as they sounds way better than in my last S.

I'm a complete sound quality purist at home, but in the car as long as I can hear it clearly I'm not too fussed. Any car system is going to be a compromise in such a small space anyway.

Cheers Neil.

I think the sound from the 03 HU is ok and could be beefed up a little with the addition of some cheapo rears. Are there depth restrictions as to what speaker you can fit, and how do you withdraw the HU without resorting to a crowbar
