last month they were doing special deal on goodyear f1 assymetrics. i looked at it but they seem to have varying discounts.
if you buy in shop you seem to pay the most
if you buy on line you pay less
if you buy and book a fittin gon line you pay less again
and then they also tell you they have specials on certain tyres, but they don't tell you which price they are taking the discount off.
i personally don't feel comfortable trading with them, they were on watchdog last week for quoting people for work they don't need just to make money. they tested a vaiety of KF and i think it was something like 1 in 5 were mis quoting work that wasn't needed.
i personally bought mine off camskill cheapest prices for tyres i can find and have them fitted at my autofit centre who have very expensive machines which remove the need to use tyre levers means a gaurenteed fit with gaurenteed no damage.
the other option i would use and just booked tyres for a colleague today is event tyres. possibly one of the cheapest tyre and fit packages going. especially with club discount (i didn't give her that as she as not a member) but she still managed to save over 50.00 over what the local place quoted her on rainsport 2's

[QUOTE=blue monster,Oct 5 2010, 07:31 PM] I went on the Kwik Fit website this afternoon & on the 1st page all looks good. When you go through to process the order this is where all the hidden extras are added to the total giving you £542 for 4 x rears.
As per your 1st post, I agree 2 x fronts + 2 x rears is £498.42 (this includes the 25% discount) which is still not great.

Ahh, I had assumed that the 25% gets knocked off of the final price, looks like the tyres are already discounted when you put them in the basket. Quite misleading that as you get a standard discount just for booking on line. Sorry for the confusion Bluemonster.
Sorry guys, looks like we still can't put "cheap" and "kwikfit" into the same sentance, but it was worth a shot.

As I am after 2 new rears I went through the offer with a fine tooth comb and in typical shit fit style, if it's too good to be true, then it generally is

I always use Event Tyres, can't fault them.
1] How flexible are they with coming out to your car?
2] I can see on their website they do
<245/40R17 91W BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE050 MZ S2000> for £132.89 per tyre.
<245/40R17 91Y GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 GSD3>for £133.26 per tyre
Prices look reasonable, yes?
Any others that should be considered before I pull the trigger?

Thanks Heinz'57. I am tempted to stick with the trusty RE050MZ's, £132.89 doesn't seem bad at all considering I will not have to burn any fuel to have the tyres changed.

EDIT
Sorry guys, I made an assumption that the 25% discount is applied to your order when you go through the check out process. As Bluemonster has pointed out, the discount is already applied. I will shuffle off quietly and think about what I have done. Big apologies all round
