Move to 18" wheels made a bit of a difference but it's really noticeable with these springs so don't do this if you are not prepared for a "firm" ride!!!!.

Looks a lot better than before. I'll be interested to hear what you think about the impact on ride and handling once the springs have settled and you've had the geo re-done.

If I'm going to hang onto my car for a bit (as appears to be the case now, barring a lottery win or the itch to change becoming unbearable), it's something I might consider doing.

The lowering springs will emphasise the shortcomings of the stock dampers on a bumpy B road Mark. To my mind its not worth lowering the cars unless (a) you don't like the current ride height on the MY04; or (b) you are going to just track the car (where the absence of bumps/potholes on the tracks means lowering springs and stiff anti roll cars are possible - as PJL demonstrated so well last weekend).

I've been passionately resisting the "get it slammed" path, but having seen the before & after pics I have to say that I am becoming intrigued.

I'd be interesed in the overall cost as well.

Hmmm. That was my concern, Craig - mine is already quite bumpy on less-than-optimal road surfaces. I don't have the luxury of using mine as a track toy so I guess it might be a compromise too far in terms of maintaining the every day useability.

Oh well - just an idea. It's not like the 04 ride height is a particular issue for me. I'll live with slightly-larger-than-I-would-like arch gaps if swapping is going to have such a negative effect on ride quality.

(I did remember the quote in your sig as I was typing my initial post )

Looks spot on, how it should be in the first place, how much has it dropped by?
