Default Changing to an performance/aluminium radiator

I might change my radiator in summer if it gets worse i.e more condensor fins failing out. ATM its fine just a small section fell out. So when i come to replace it I either go with a standard honda one or fit a performance/aluminium radiator depending on the cost vs a standard one

Now i have seen aluminium radiators, anyone care to chime in about them/benefits? etc

As far as i know an aluminium one would be lightier, how much lightier? and in theory be more efficient at cooling but how?? but TBH i dont know a great deal.

Anyone used or can recommend any?

I cant see any peformance benefits as the car will run at the same temp as the stock fan switch and thermostat will be retained other than quick temp times?, correct???

Thanks

I have a Visteon Racing one
Apparently high cooling efficiency and lower weight (only uses one fan)
Though my driver was to clear the SC intake and increae cooling due to the SC

Makes sense as a worthy addition for the SC .

Will look into visteons range, thanks

TBH, unless you are charged, I wouldn't bother.

Remember that despite the rad being aluminium, it will also hold more water thus actually making it heavier.

Looking into there seems to be more core's on AM ones and i believe the Honda is already aluminium with plastic ends.

Cheers Ron.

Ron is right there are no weight savings from the rad itself.
Mine was fitted to cope with 179 extra BHP and the extra cooling needed to make that happen!
I also need to improve clearances.
The lose of a fan and its weight was a bonus!

Fair enough, it's just that I've noticed theres a bit of damage on my OEM radiator.
Since I'm now going to be using the car on the track, I thought I might aswell buy an upgraded one.

So the general opinion would be to buy another OEM one when needed? even though the car will see a fair few trackday?!
