Why not? eSeM is one of the most experienced here Captain.
It came from someone far more experienced than me .... check Billman250's posts on this thread.

A case of the blind leading the blind. Industrial hydraulic systems can be continually presurised... this doesnt make entrained air magically disappear and pressure is not going to do it on your car either. Is this thread a wind-up ?

It doesn't make air magically disappear, it makes a small opening in the master cylinder that allows the air bubbles to rise back into, nothing magic just gravity.

I have to agree here.

It doesn't need to be anyone technical pressing the brake, they just need to have a strong leg and understand 'UP!' 'DOWN!' 'HOLD IT DOWN' 'PUMP IT' 'STOP'

I guess when it's a 2 man method you'll be alright, when it's man & woman method there's a lot more issues to consider.

'entrained air', hasn't that got something to do with concrete or am I thinking of something else?

If it works .... it is a good idea.

Billman250 is a full time mechanic in NY and knows more about these cars than most. If he says it works ....

Certainly helped me last week.

In theory it shouldn't work, when you have pressed the pedal you have closed the one way valve that allows to create pressure,so air can't return to the reservoir until you release the pedal, but years ago we did use this method on our motor bikes by tie wrapping the lever up over night, and sometimes it did work

Could someone explain it a bit more. Are the bleed nipples opened at all?

I know clutchs work well by opening the bleed nippl and leaving it to gravity bleed for 20mins.
