Chamois technique
This is the first car I've had where I'm bothered enough not to want it to go streaky after it's been washed, so I need to brush up on my drying technique.
Whenever I use a chamois leather (I just bought one recently and tried it on the Scooby) it seems to just smear streaky soapy marks on the car. I rinse the car, then wash, then rinse again but it still leaves soapy lines when I try to use the leather to dry the car off. Does my chamois just need a wash or am I doing something wrong?
I've asked Santa for a Zymol starter pack, so this is just the beginning

I have always used Chammy's, can't get used to the towels. I have tried the most expensive to teh cheapest and IMO the best is the synthetic Autoglym chammy - no streaks and will last about 2 years for

Neil are you using an artificial chaomois ? If so, they leave streaky marks.
Alternately, don't take offence, have you rinsed the car properly ?
Best technique I have found is get a turtle wax drying blade from Hellfords use that on a small section then dry off the excess water with your chamois. Car will come up a treat.

I second the water-blades, I use an Autoglym one, but you have to make sure it is clean for every use or else you can end up scratching the car.
I use an old cotton (clean) towel to dry off the remaining bits.
Car is black, so It easily shows watermarks

Once you have some Zymol on, the best way by far is to take the car for a spin - works every time for me.
I think Zymol suggest a synthetic chammy rather than a real one, but better still towels are the way to go
